Dover, DE — Giddy Up Lucky, with a 1:50.2 effort, proved much the best in the $35,000 Preferred Pace while Barber Pole posted a 1:50.3 win in the $32,500 Delaware Special and Next Flight took the $26,000 Open Pace on a sometimes foggy Monday at Dover Downs.

Giddy Up Lucky ran his winning streak to nine on Monday night.

Leaving from post eight in the feature, David Rovine and Baron Racing Stable’s Giddy Up Lucky continued on a winning tear, registering his ninth win in a row and 12th of the year with a career fastest 1:50.2 mile with Eric Goodell along for the ride. Mainland Key N, a 38-1 shot, was second with Ross Wolfenden, edging the Roger Plante-driven Harlingen Hanover.

Giddy Up Lucky, an altered son of Camluck-Sweet Art, has won $$277,365 in 2010. Lifetime he has earned $637,605.

Montrell Teague elected to race Barber Pole from off the pace and the strategy paid off to the tune of a 1:50.3 conquest in the $32,500 Delaware Special. Bred and owned by Gary and Barbara Iles, the Badlands Hanover-Pocket Comb 4-year-old chalked up victory number seven this season, upping his seasonal bankroll to $102,840. His career totals are $255,615. Solano (Corey Callahan) closed along the inside to finish second, just beating out Astounding Hanover (Tim Tetrick).

Next Flight made it two in a row as Corey Callahan guided the Shotgun Scott-Lido Beach gelding to victory in 1:52.1 in the $26,000 Open Pace for owners Henry Faragalli, Jr., Henry Faragalli III, Belle Bauman and trainer Del Cote. It was his eighth win of the season, pushing his purse earnings this campaign to $102,470. The 9-year-old Next Flight has won $728,005 in his career.

Corey Callahan won four races, including both ends of the daily double.
