Handsome Harry was a 1:52 winner in the Monday feature at Tioga Downs.

Ranger sent Handsome Harry to the front from post position six and cut through fractions of :26.3, :55.4 and 1:23.4 before hanging on at the wire in 1:52. Kashability (Jim Taggart, Jr.) popped out of third down the stretch and just missed for the win, while Winbak Dimensions (Matt Kakaley) hung on for third.

Handsome Harry is a 4-year-old son of Dream Away-Princess Jocelyn who is trained by Mark Ford for the partnership of Ralph Del Priore and Harry Doyle. It was the fifth win in 17 starts this year for Handsome Harry, who increased his bankroll to more than $142,000 with the victory.

Fern Paquet, Jr. and Andy Santeramo each posted driving doubles on the afternoon’s 12-race card.

Harrington Raceway
Foulk Stables and Lauren Allen’s Sniper Hall ($4.00, Corey Callahan) won his fourth consecutive race Monday in the $20,000 Open Pace with a 1:51.3 front stepping two length victory at Harrington Raceway. The 7-year-old Blissfull Hall ridgling set all the fractions after assuming command from Real Magician early. After an opening quarter of :26.4, half-mile in :55.3 and three-quarters in 1:23.2, Sniper Hall held off Real Magician and Art Gram who rounded out the trifecta. Sniper Hall is trained by Lauren Allen and has now banked $42,220 this season.

Saratoga Gaming and Raceway
It was a huge day at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway in what has been a breakout season for trainer Rob Harmon. Harmon has thrived after moving east from Michigan last year and has been just shy of dominant everywhere he has been. Harmon had three horses entered at Saratoga for the Memorial Day matinee and all three would make their way to the winner’s circle. Billy Dobson steered Kona to a trotting win in the 3-year-old’s first start in the Harmon barn while Civil Shepherd stole the show on Monday with an impressive 1:54.2 victory, her second straight in the $15,000 claiming/conditioned class. Harmon put the colors on to drive himself and piloted Luv Ya Tyler to his maiden win in the afternoon’s third race, completing the Monday training hat trick at the Spa. Harmon, who has had significant success racing at Yonkers Raceway, has a winning percentage of over 30 percent this season at Saratoga.
