Idol Time wins feature at Dover

Dover, DE — Idol Time recorded his first ‘South of the Border’ win in the $13,000 featured trot at Dover Downs on Thursday.

With Roger Plante at the controls, Idol Time, a recent acquisition by David Rovine and trainer Josh Green, turned back seven 4-year-old rivals in the featured race. The Angus Hall-Nowhere Fast gelding was fast enough to set a lifetime mark of 1:55.4 in only his second start since leaving Canada. Musclelaneous (Corey Callahan) nipped My Man (Matt Kakaley) for second-place money.

Matt Kakaley had one winner during the program and now with his next driving win will become, at age 23, the youngest driver to win 2,000 races. Currently the honor belongs to Tim Tetrick who was 24 at the time.

Allan Davis led all drivers with three wins. Victor Kirby, Corey Callahan and George Dennis had two wins each. Dennis also trained both of his winners and shares ownership in the horses with his wife, Tina.
