Imagine Hanover dominant again in Meadows series

Washington, PA — Imagine Hanover dominated his Ken Weaver Memorial Trot field once again, cruising to an unchallenged victory Monday at The Meadows. Gotta Luv Cash took the other $15,000 split in the second leg of the series for 3- and 4-year-old trotting colts, horses and geldings.

Hammered down to 1-9, Imagine Hanover sped to the lead for Brett Miller and was ahead at every call, just as he was last week. He scored in 1:57.3, 8-1/2 lengths better than Glamrocker, with Master Angler third. Del S. Miller trains Imagine Hanover, a 4-year-old Broadway Hall-Imposing Hanover gelding, for James Beluscak and Robert Carson.

Gotta Luv Cash, a 12-1 longshot, was behind a wall of horses in the final turn but found the path to victory in the Lightning Lane for owner/trainer/driver Kyle Bolon. Masada rallied for second, a half-length back, while early leader Stray Cat Strut saved show. The 4-year-old Cash Hall-Gotta Luv It gelding scored in 1:58.4, a career best.

In the $20,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace, Foxy Lady brushed powerfully first over and triumphed in 1:52 for Dave Palone, trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and Phillip Collura. Certified Ideal was second, 4-1/2 lengths in arrears, while Phone Terror closed from last to earn show. The 6-year-old daughter of Real Desire-Judy Is A Fox now boasts $689,872 in lifetime earnings.

Palone drove four winners and Miller three on the 15-race card.

Dover Downs
JK Letitgo won her fifth race in a row, stepping up the ranks to win her first appearance in the $20,000 Mares Open Handicap on Monday at Dover Downs. Idle since racing in the Miss New Jersey at the Meadowlands last August, JK Letitgo returned to the races on Feb. 3 and has been perfect since. The youngest in this week’s top female pace, the 4-year-old daughter of Western Ideal-JK Getoutofmyway, driven by Jonathan Roberts, closed between horses in deep stretch. Coookin The Books (Allan Davis) and race favorite Jeremes Sweetheart (Ron Pierce) slugged it out early and when a collage of females roared down the lane, JK Letitgo emerged with the victory. Gottaseeaboutagirl (Corey Callahan) closed boldly to finish second in front of Jeremes Sweetheart. Josh Parker trains and co-owns the winner with Kevin Evans, Bud Spedden and Nanticoke Racing. JK Letitgo has now won $35,000 in her five 2014 starts. Joe Hundertpfund started five horses on the card and won four: All About Boyz (George Dennis) in the third; JJ’scollegefund (Ron Pierce) in the sixth; and Casimir Lawman in the 11th and JK Cheerleader in the 12th, both driven by Ross Wolfenden. Only Putnams Kream did not win, but finished third in the third race. Meet leading driver Corey Callahan advanced to 197 wins this meet by piloting three winners, while owner Nanticoke Racing also had a triple.

Northfield Park
Julians Caesar won the $9,500 Open Trot in Northfield Park’s sixth race on Monday. Ron Burke trains the 7-year-old trotter for owners Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC. Chris Page was the winning driver. Julians Caesar (Oaklea Julian-Twin B Lady) started from post six and let his competition carve out the fractions of :28.4, :58.3 and 1:28 before taking the lead in the stretch and winning by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:58.2. Completing the race were Sure Thing, Hello Carlo, Easy Strength, Tagmaster, Zorgwijk Heavenly and Kahoku. Monday’s triumph increased Julians Ceasar’s lifetime win tally to 12 and his earnings to $245,172. He was the race favorite and returned $6.40 to win. In Monday’s ninth race, Man He Can Skoot captured the $9,500 Open Pace for owners Carl Howard and Gerrie Tucker. Trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr. called upon Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. to drive. Man He Can Skoot (Mantacular-Skoot’n By) started from post three and led at every call. He posted fractions of :27.4, :57.2, and 1:25.4 and won by a length in 1:54.1. Completing the race were Shark Dressed Man, Forever Good, Western Churchill, Curator, Goodnite Goodluck and Lyons JosephJNR. Man He Can Skoot now has 22 career successes. Monday’s victory pushed his bankroll to $146,892. He was heavily favored and paid $4.20 to win.
