Lynch wins pair at Ocean Downs

Berlin, MD — River Path, owned by Green Valley Training and trained by Brian Armour won Monday’s opening race at Ocean Downs in 1:55.2. The 7-year-old gelding got away second from last and was parked out from the half when driver Jason Lynch made a three wide move coming up the backside and nosed out co-favorite CJ Striker with driver Allan Davis at the wire. Finishing third was Three Large, trained and driven by Mark Gray.

In the fifth race Gold Comet shot out for the lead and never looked back, going wire-to-wire in fractions of :27.3, :56.1, 1:24.4 and 1:55 for driver John Wagner and trainer Ken Schlotzhauer. Second place went to Sharpest Edge for driver Victor Kirby and rounding out the trifecta was Metropole with Ray “Shorty” Robinson, Jr. in the sulky.

Hare Force One took the fastest mile of the night, pacing to a 1:53.4 victory in the sixth race for trainer Craig McInnis and giving reinsman Jason Lynch his second win of the night.

The 3-year-old colt MC Golden Boy scored his first career victory in the eighth race, pacing his mile in 1:59.3 for trainer Edward Savage and local driver Ray “Shorty” Robinson, Jr.
