Macharoundtheclock wins fourth straight in Meadows pace

Washington, PA — Calling on her customary late kick, Macharoundtheclock rallied from well back to capture her fourth straight victory in Monday’s $20,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Macharoundtheclock was seventh by eight lengths when Eric Ledford asked her for pace. She picked up the live cover of Novascotia Hanover and roared through the stretch to score in 1:53.2, three-quarters of a length better than early leader Rescue Team. Doubelieveinmagic closed well for show.

Tim Twaddle trains the 4-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Summers Soul, who extended her career bankroll to $356,087, for Birnam Wood Farms.

Tony Hall and Dave Palone each drove three winners on the 15-race card.

Dover Downs
Monochromatic, driven by defending meet champion Corey Callahan, closed with a rush between rivals to score a 1:52.2 victory in the Monday $18,000 Mares Open Pace feature. A Delaware-bred 9-year-old, Monochromatic has been a leading female pacer in local feature races for North State Street Stable. Callahan moved to the outside from fourth and slowly edged up to eventually battle 6-5 co-favorite Handsoffmycookie (Tony Morgan) at the three-quarters. The Dream Away-Miss Ty lass raced head-to-head down the lane with Fill My Pockets Up (Eddie Davis Jr.), streaking along the passing lane as Embassy Seelster (Allan Davis) was coming strongly on the outside. The photo finish camera revealed Monochromatic first at the wire with stakes seasoned Handsoffmycooke next. Fill My Pockets Up nipped Embassy Seelster for third. The victory was the eighth of the season for Monochromatic. She has won $111,490 of her career $863,965 bankroll this year.
Allan Davis had a four-win grand slam.
