Dover, DE — Ms Caila J Fra showed her class notching a 1:50.1 victory in the $21,000 Filly and Mare Open Handicap the Monday, Dec. 2 feature race at Dover Downs. Driver Ross Wolfenden was red hot with a “grand slam” on the card.

Andy Miller teamed with The Fra Stable’s homebred 3-year-old daughter of Western Ideal-Calla Fra for her seventh victory of the campaign. Steve Elliott trains Ms Caila J Fra who now has banked $255,358 in her first year of racing. Jeremes Sweetheart and Ron Pierce were a worthy rival testing the winner on the backstretch. Spend It All, another talented sophomore, was a strong third.

Ben Stafford Jr. pulled Mindale’s Smile out of fifth heading to the far turn and overtook the leaders in the stretch for a 1:52.4 lifetime mark in a 3, 4&5-year-old pace. The Quik Pulse Mindale-Laugh A Year filly conditioned by Ben Stafford, won for the fifth time this season lifting seasonal earnings to $53,571 for breeder-owners Joel and Diane Halpern. Beechwood Diana (Ross Wolfenden) finished second with Air Miles Hanover (Vic Kirby) third.

Ross Wolfenden led all drivers with four wins. Trainer Joe Hundertfund haltered three winners while Ron Pierce had a double.

The Meadows
Unefoisdansmavie, the only mare in the field, stalked patiently from the pocket, then roared by in the Lightning Lane to capture Monday’s $18,000 Preferred Trot at The Meadows. Unefoisdansmavie, the 3-5 favorite, let Count Me In do all the heavy lifting on the lead before brushing late for Dave Palone and downing Count Me In by 1/2 length in 1:53.3. The ground-saving Redder Than Red was third. A 6-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World, Unefoisdansmavie has been a model of excellence and consistency for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III. In 2012, she won nine races and $148,667; this year, she’s won nine races and $148,001. Mike Wilder drove five winners and Palone four on the 15-race card while Burke enjoyed a triple.
