Washington, PA — My Drag Queen followed NY Yankees for most of the mile, then blew by her in the lane to capture her second straight victory — and fourth in the last five starts — in Monday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Aaron Merriman hustled My Drag Queen to the front but accepted the pocket willingly as NY Yankees charged past. When NY Yankees had to work hard to stave off the first-over challenge of Moonlite Delight, My Drag Queen was poised for the kill. She triumphed in 1:51.3, 1-1/2 lengths better than NY Yankees, while Isabella’s Magic rallied for show.
Marcus Marashian trains My Drag Queen, a 4-year-old daughter of Dragon Again-Kinki who boosted her career bankroll to $142,397, for Bill Bercury.
