Omen Hanover scores in Dover feature

Dover, DE — KDM Stables’ Omen Hanover returned to her old haunting grounds to win the $23,000 Mares Open Pace at Dover Downs on Tuesday.

With Andy Miller driving the Nick Surick-conditioned Omen Hanover, the 7-year-old Western Hanover-Ooh’s ‘N Aah’s mare took the lead at the start and never yielded on the way to a 1:51.4 score in the week’s top distaff feature. It was her second win in three starts and seventh of the year, boosting her seasonal earnings to $202,410. Mystra (Brad Hanners) sat second the entire mile with Lorrie Please (Matt Kakaley) the third-place finisher.

In a $16,500 Mares Winners Over Pace, Miller also drove the winner, Tom and Scott Dillon’s Wish All You Want, a Western Terror-Cantbuymehappiness mare trained by meet leader Josh Green. Docdor Libby (Ross Wolfenden) charged down the lane for second in front of Dagnabit Hanover (Allan Davis).
