P J Clark set a new Pocono track record for a 4-year-old trotting stallion with a 1:53 win on Tuesday.

The previous track mark was 1:53.3 by Snazzy Hot Rod (Tim Tetrick) on April 22, 2008.

Morrill left out of the four hole to assume the lead with the opening split timed in :27.4 before Springboard (Jim Taggart, Jr.) became the new leader at the half, clicked off in :58.4.

But it was P J Clark taking the nine-horse field to the three-quarter pole in 1:24 and winning the race by 2-1/4 lengths over Shibboleth Hanover (David Ingraham), with Badboy Paparazzi A (Mike Simons) third.

This was the seventh win in 21 starts this season for P J Clark, who now has earnings over the $100,000 plateau for the second straight year.

Saratoga Gaming and Raceway
The Derue brothers teamed up for a double on Tuesday night at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway as trainer Brett Derue sent two members of his stable out on the warm evening, both of which would find the winner’s circle. Old Mcardle came on late to record a victory for the second consecutive Tuesday night despite stepping up into the $7,500 claimers while JK Cascade held on to wire the field in the evening’s $5,000 claiming pace. Derue’s brother Jordan was at the controls for both winners on Tuesday in what has been a breakout season in the sulky for the 20-year-old reinsman. The Derue Stable was two-for-two on Tuesday night after registering a hat trick last Tuesday night. Old Mcardle led the way as one member of Derue’s training triple on that evening and repeated this week.
