Photo Maxx wins Harrington Open Trot

Harrington, DE — Lauren Allen’s Photo Maxx ($9.60, Victor Kirby) earned his sixth win of the year on Wednesday with a 1:56.1 victory in the $19,000 Open Trot at Harrington Raceway.

Photo Maxx was a 1:56.1 winner.

The Allen-trained 9-year-old SJ’s Photo gelding made full use of his rail post and set fractions of :28.2, :58.2 and 1:27.1 and held off favorite Cash On Delivery’s charge late for a one length score. Spunky Jack was third.

It was the 28th career win for Photo Maxx, who is approaching $600,000 in career earnings.

Allan Davis, George Dennis and Kirby each had driving doubles.

Batavia Downs
Xenia Hanover is sure liking her new home at Batavia Downs. Since arriving at Batavia Downs from Mohawk Raceway in mid-August, Xenia Hanover has posted three wins in her first three appearances, stepping up in class each time. Wednesday night, she scored the hat trick by registering an impressive victory in the $8,500 Fillies and Mares Open Pace in 1:55.1. Real Joy, last week’s Filly and Mares Open Pace winner, set the pace, posting solid fractions of :28.2, :57.3 and 1:25.3. As the field turned for home, Notreadytobenice and Real Joy were together on the lead as Jens Underdog and Xenia Hanover kicked into gear, fanning out three and four-wide, respectively. But near the wire, Xenia Hanover showed she could handle the top level and easily pulled away, beating Notreadytobenice by 1-3/4 lengths while Jens Underdog and Real Joy finished in a dead heat for show. Greg Merton, Batavia Downs’ leading driver, guided Xenia Hanover ($3.40) to the win. She now has five victories in 25 starts and upped her seasonal winnings to $28,450 and $170,536 lifetime. Xenia Hanover (The Panderosa-Witsends Loiuse) is an 8-year-old mare who is owned by Keith Pinkowski and trained by Mihajlo Zdejelar, Jr.

Northfield Park
Mr Green paced home for his fifth straight win on Wednesday in Northfield Park’s fourth race. The 4-year-old is owned and trained by John Cantrell. Kurt Sugg has been in the sulky for all of the victories. Mr Green began from the second tier. Sugg brushed him to the lead in the third quarter and secured a three length victory over Visage Hanover (Ryan Stahl). The mile clocking was 1:56.3. Wednesday’s triumph increased Mr Green’s (Big Green Machine-Windys Lounge) lifetime win tally to six and his career earnings to $7,685. He was the race favorite and paid $3.40 to win.
