Power Everywhere takes Thursday feature at Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — Power Everywhere captured the $9,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace on Thursday (April 17) in Northfield Park’s opening race. She is trained by Calvin Hollar, Northfield Park leading conditioner so far in 2014. Robin Miller drove the victory for owner Edwin Harwood of Monroe, Michigan.

Power Everywhere won the F&M Open in 1:55.1 on Thursday night at Northfield Park.

Power Everywhere (Kilowatt-Imagine Anywhere-Camluck) started from post three and sat the pocket through fractions of :28, :57 and 1:26. Miller pulled in the stretch and called upon Power Everywhere. She responded and bested her competition by a full length in 1:55.1. Completing the race were It Must Be Magic, Blows Me Away, Eradikate, Make A Call and Jolting Kate.

Thursday’s win was the sixth victory this year, and 20th career score for Power Everywhere and it bolstered her lifetime earnings to $63,467. She was the race favorite and returned $5.00 to win.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway
Amped Up (Village Jolt) lasted on the lead to pull off the mild upset in the $6,420 featured race on Thursday at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The Mike Carrubba-trained 6-year-old moved to the lead early on and held off the first over bid from the favorite en route to his victory in 1:57.2. Muncie (Shawn Gray) sat the pocket and finished second for the third consecutive start while the favored Militia Man (Austin Siegelman) had to settle for third. Bruce Aldrich, Jr., who piloted Amped up to the upset victory at odds of 11-1, recorded four wins on the card.
