Schoolkids was a 1:51.2 winner in the Preferred Handicap Pace.

Schoolkids (Pat Berry) took the lead from Harlingen Hanover (Roger Plante) before the opening panel and then set all the pace on the way to his third win of the year, chalking up a 1:51.2 victory in the week’s top event.

KDM Corp. recently added the 5-year-old I Am A Fool-Game Bunny horse to its stable and has been rewarded with a check grabber in all but one of his eight previous starts in 2011. Nick Surick conditions the winner of $56,100 this year and $670,195 lifetime. Harlingen Hanover held on for second with Frog Juice (Eric Goodell) third.

Allan Davis, who had road trouble in his three previous starts, raced Nova Artist away from the starting gate and rolled on for a 1:50.3 victory in the $32,500 Delaware Special. Owned by Eddie and Kathy Davis, and trained by their son Martin, Nova Artist recorded his fourth win of the meet in seven races with the fastest mile of his career. The Real Artist-Avon Lady 4-year-old was followed by the good closing Eagle All (Eric Goodell) who was second and Theredandpanlines (Jon Roberts) who was third. Nova Artist leads all horses racing at the meet with earnings of $68,875 and in his career, $351,107.

Monticello Raceway
Winning races is nothing new to Billy “Zeke” Parker, Jr. So winning five races on the President’s Day race card at Monticello Raceway is just another day at the office for Zeke. His assault on Monday afternoon started when he scored a 2:03.1 trotting victory with Call For Grace ($20.20) in the third race. He then won the sixth race with Penn Tag ($3.60) in 2:02.1 and came right back to cop the seventh behind Shania Twain ($23.00) in 1:59.1. Win number four on the card was in the ninth race with trotter Millbrook Mille ($30.80) in 2:01.2 and Parker capped his day with another longshot victory with Notimefordreaming ($17.60) in 2:01.1. Now with 37 wins at the current meet it’s unusual for Parker’s winners to pay double figures. With the five that he scored today the bearded wonder now has 10,271 career driving victories, ninth best all-time.
