Skyway Priss beats the boys Wednesday

Harrington, DE — William Cantrell’s Skyway Priss ($15.40, Ross Wolfenden) notched her fifth win in the year in Wednesday’s featured trotting event, beating a conditioned group of male rivals at Harrington Raceway in 1:56.

The Cincinnati Kid mare held pocket-sitting favorite Cash On Delivery at bay throughout the mile and withstood one last charge from the latter late for a narrow win. Cadillac Cruiser was third.

Trained by John Cabot, all but one of Skyway Priss’ wins this year have come at Harrington.

Allan Davis and Victor Kirby each had driving triples. Ross Wolfenden had a double.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway
V I P (Muscles Yankee) snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in Wednesday’s co-featured trotting race at Saratoga Casino and Raceway. The race’s favorite Blazin Benny opened up a lead of roughly six lengths approaching the head of the stretch and appeared home free when he went off stride. V I P would then square off in the stretch with rival Browner Shuttle (Stephane Bouchard) before they hit the wire close enough to require a photo to determine the winner in the mile clocked in 1:57.4. V I P, who was driven by Austin Siegelman, secured his ninth victory of the season in a year that has seen him finish first or second in 17 of 26 starts and on the board in 21 of the 26 tries. The win for V I P was the second consecutive on the card for Siegelman and trainer Allan Johnson who also scored with conditioned trotter Perfect Rendition (Perfectly), who prevailed in his Saratoga debut.
