Spice It Up Lindy was a 1:53.1 winner for Jim Meittinis.

Leaving from post position two in a scratched down field of five in the $16,500 Open Trot, Meittinis wasted no time getting Spice It Up Lindy to the front. The duo trotted by an opening quarter in :27.1 with Aruba Vacation (Fern Paquet, Jr.) sitting in second.

Spice It Up Lindy kept the fractions honest despite the short field, leading by the half in :56.3 and three-quarters in 1:24.3.

Around the final turn, Meittinis was receiving pressure from a first over Sand Top Gun (Howard Parker) and asked Spice It Up Lindy for more. The 9-year old son of SJ’s Caviar–Spice World responded, winning by open lengths in 1:53.1. Manningly (Mike Simons) closed late to be second, while Mosignor Flan (Lewayne Miller) was third.

Santo Zuzolo trains Spice It Up Lindy who won for the fifth time in eight seasonal starts.

The mile of 1:53.1 erased the track record of 1:53.3 that he had previously shared with Woody Woodrow and Aruba Vacation.
