Stormunn was a narrow winner in the Filly and Mare Open on Sunday.
The Kerin Warner-trained mare was the runner-up in last weekend’s $15,000 feature but would not be denied on Sunday. Bruce Aldrich, Jr. piloted the 6-year-old to her first local victory in an Open, outclosing her rivals in a 1:57.3 victory on a day with strong winds slowing the final times.
Let’s Go Higher (Shawn Gray) almost overcame coming away last as she charged hard late to be second while Little Santamonica (Jim Devaux) earned the show spot.
Live racing resumes on Wednesday evening at Saratoga with a 6:45 p.m. first post.
