Three Of Spades was a 1:51.2 winner in the Dover Open.

Jon Roberts put Three Of Spades into high gear turning for home and the Cam’s Card Shark-Triple Flip gelding roared down the lane, completing his victory with a :27.2 final panel in the week’s top pace of the week. Owned by Bill Lodovico and trainer Bib Roberts, the victory was the third of the meet for the fast finishing 7-year-old. Western Ace closed well for Montrell Teague for second. Fifth Wave and Tim Tetrick were third. Three Of Spades has two wins, a second, and a third in four 2010 starts.

JK Lullabye won the photo finish in the first of two $22,000 Winners Over paces. Mike Cole drove the Bettor’s Delight-JK Lady Like gelding to his second win in four starts since New Year’s Day. Todd Wise owns and trains. Radar Installed N (Ross Wolfenden) was a close second in front of early leader Dontloseyourdayjob (Corey Callahan).

Jeff Bartels’ Kelly’s Spur had just enough to hold off Denim Hanover (Tim Tetrick) at the wire in 1:52.2 in the other $22,000 pace. Corey Callahan drove the Sharky Spur-Keystone Ritzy gelding to his second win in his last three races. That’s Justice (Vince Copeland) was the show finisher. In the race, the six-race win streak put together by Harlingen Hanover came to a close.

Spring Break surges late in Meadows F&M pace

Washington, PA — Locked in around the final turn and seemingly racing for a minor check, Spring Break threaded her way to daylight and powered home to capture Monday’s $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Spring Break left for position but found herself seriously shuffled as the field turned for home. Once Mike Wilder guided her through traffic, the 6-year-old daughter of Dream Away-Siobhan knifed into the Lightning Lane and brushed past Natalie, downing that rival by a nose in 1:53.4 over a “good” surface. Fox Valley Sarong completed the ticket.

Randy Bendis trains Spring Break, who pushed her career bankroll north of $500,000 for Joann and Joe Thomson.

Bendis fashioned a triple on the 15-race card while Aaron Merriman and Brett Miller each drove three winners.
