Tracys Song repeats in Meadows Pace

Washington, PA — For the second consecutive week, Tracys Song got the better of her more celebrated stablemate Jans Luck, using a determined uncovered move to capture Monday’s $27,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Jans Luck took the field through the first three-quarters in 1:26 over a sloppy, tiring surface. When Tony Hall sent Tracys Song first up from third, she wore down Jans Luck to prevail by a neck in 1:54.3, with Cams Van Go a close-up third. Bettors hammered down the Tracys Song-Jans Luck entry to 1-9.

Ron Burke trains Tracys Song, a 4-year-old daughter of Astreos-Daylon Reality who won for the sixth time in her last seven starts, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Mike Wilder, who recently recorded his 5,000th career victory, drove five winners on the 15-race card while Hall fashioned a triple.

Stylish Soiree N and Tom Harmer crossed the finish line in 1:58.

Stylish Soiree N, a 2-year-old filly by Elsu-Fake Cash, benefitted from perfectly patient handling by Harmer to win a non-winners of one pace as they caught the pacesetter Monsieur Paris, with Ray Vizzi in the bike, in mid-stretch. Ciara Stable holds the ownership papers on Stylish Soiree N as she earned a life’s mark of 1:58.

Though his lone starter (Fox Valley Arika) on the Monday evening program finished fifth, Pompano Park trainer Dick Macomber marked his 75th birthday on December 21 at the South Florida track.

In 2009, he’s sent out 239 starters to date with 43 of those returning for winner’s photographs. Lifetime, he’s trained almost 700 winners for almost $5 million in purses. He stepped away from driving duty just over three years ago but has also amassed over 1,100 lifetime driving wins for over $4.9 million in purse earnings.

In the current meet at The Isle Pompano Park which began on September 19, Macomber has harnessed 14 winners from 59 starters for purse earnings of over $68,000.

Racing resumes on Wednesday evening, December 23, at 7:05 p.m. at The Isle Pompano Park. There will no live action on December 25 but the Winter Capital of Harness Racing returns with its usual Saturday evening doubleheader on December 26.
