Twin Oaks Tess was a 1:55.1 winner on Sunday afternoon at Saratoga.

A wrapped up winner last Sunday, the classy mare found it a little bit tougher this week. Assigned post eight, Twin Oaks Tess went to the front end again but had to work hard to get there. The fractions were fast and after a half mile in :56.2, driver Jason Bartlett kept the 3-5 favorite rolling.

Though she tired a bit late, Twin Oaks Tess had enough to record the front running win, her second straight at the Spa and her fourth already in 2010. The winner’s share of the $15,500 purse moved the Scott Blackler trained mare’s career bankroll over $200,000. Last year’s Filly and Mare Pacer of the Year at Saratoga, Hidden Touch (Brian Cross), finished second while Princess Michi (Mike Micallef) earned the show spot.

Live racing resumes at Saratoga on Friday night (March 19) with a first post of 7:05 p.m. followed by a Saturday doubleheader and a Sunday matinee. Daytime racing begins at 12:45 p.m.

Missed Tide wins $18,500 Dover feature

Dover, DEMissed Tide did not miss winning the $18,500 feature while Enjoy The View got her photo taken in the $16,500 4- and 5-year-old mares pace at Dover Downs on Sunday over a track labeled ‘good.’

Corey Callahan and Missed Tide gave up the lead when Break My Art (Tony Morgan) rushed three-wide at the three-quarters. Callahan waited until the field turned for home before urging Missed Tide back into action and the Misfit-Mannart High Tide gelding responded, reaching the finish line in a lifetime best 1:53.4 performance for owner-trainer Mike Horsey. Break My Art held off Braggin Hanover (Ben Stafford, Jr.) for second money.

Joe and JoAnn Thomson’s homebred Enjoy The View was also strongest in the stretch, posting a 1:56.2 victory with Brad Hanners at the controls. The win was the first of the year for the Life Sign-Daylon Flyer 4-year-old trained by Eli Scott. All Memory (Mark Mayes) raced tough down the lane before relenting to finish second. B Good Tanna (Frank Milby) was the show horse.

Tony Morgan drove four winners, while Corey Callahan had a triple.
