Unefoisdansmavie grinds out win in Meadows female feature

Washington, PA — Unefoisdansmavie reached the front with a determined first-over bid and went on to a hard-earned victory in Tuesday’s (Nov. 8) $20,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Unefoisdansmavie boosts her bankroll to $633,067 with yet another victory at The Meadows on Tuesday.

Unefoisdansmavie was fourth down the backside when Tony Hall sent her after the leader and stablemate, Cowgirl Hall. The 9-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World held off Mistress Valentine by a neck in 1:55. Cowgirl Hall saved show.

Ron Burke trains Unefoisdansmavie, who now boasts $633,067 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III.

It was one of four wins for Hall on the 14-race card.

Pocono
It may have taken her until the end of her 3-year-old campaign, but the sophomore Well Said filly Eloquent Grace may have had her breakthrough mile Tuesday night (Nov. 8) at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono in taking the $18,000 distaff pacing feature. Her final time of 1:53.1 did not give her a new mark, but her method of winning was most impressive. Sitting fourth and about five lengths off the pace at the five-eighths pole, Eloquent Grace and driver Jim Marohn Jr. made a giant spurt to reach the leader by the three-quarter pole, to go by on the turn, and win by 4-1/4 lengths, with her final three-eighths of a mile translating to about a 1:50 rate. The superior victory also boosted her earnings over six figures to $100,200. An embryo transfer foal out of Graceful Motion, who produced the millionaire Real Artist full sister and brother Ginger And Fred and Fred And Ginger, Eloquent Grace continues a long history for this trio: the official ownership on her is Taylor, Gold, J&T Silva Stables LLC, and the Burke Racing Stable LLC of conditioner Ron Burke. Star driver of the evening at Pocono at press time was Andrew McCarthy, who visited victory lane four times, in races three, five, six and seven. Breaking up McCarthy’s streak was fourth race winning driver Jim Taggart Jr., who in the 11th race came back with an $89.80 winner in Marion Millionaire. This gives The Downs seven horses paying $50 or more in its last six cards.

Rosecroft Raceway
Hide Me Away is one of the fastest horses off the gate at Rosecroft Raceway. Driver Jonathan Roberts sent his charge hard off the gate from post eight, but found a three-wide wall in front of him, so Roberts ducked his horse to the pylons. It proved to be a winning move, as Hide Me Away drew off to a three-length victory to win the $10,500 Winners Over Pace in 1:52.2. Hickory Aloha used his usual speed to grab the track early, but Diamondkeeper and JW Renegade, who usually race from off the pace, decided to leave and favorite, Diamondkeeper, was caught three-wide through the half in 53.2. The torturous pace took its toll on the two parked-out horses, who finished out of the money. Hickory Aloha (Timmy Offut) hung on for second, while 55-1 shot Tidewater Titan (Brian Burton) was third. Roberts and Roger Plante posted two wins each. Trainer Arty Foster Jr. had two wins as well.
