Unefoisdansmavie takes top Meadows trot

Washington, PA — Snubbed by bettors in favor of her stablemate, Unefoisdansmavie brushed wide in the lane to capture Tuesday’s $20,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows at an uncharacteristic 6-1.

Unefoisdansmavie was the favorite in each of her last three races, but when she was matched Tuesday against the red-hot Summer Indian — they raced as separate wagering interests — players made him the 1-2 selection. But Summer Indian tired in the stretch on the “good” surface while the fresher of the Ron Burke trainees zipped by for Tony Hall to score in 1:55.4. Count Me In shot the Lightning Lane for second, a length back, with the first-over No Doze third.

Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Jack Piatt III own Unefoisdansmavie, a 6-year-old daughter of Revenue S-Peace To The World who now boasts $375,317 in career earnings.

Dave Palone had five winners and Burke four on the 15-race card while Brett Miller and Mike Wilder each enjoyed a triple.

C’mon Buzz Off and longshot The Onlyest One not only won both ends of the twin $20,000 claiming allowance paces, but each registered the same winning time of 1:54.3 over a track rated as sloppy at Dover Downs on Tuesday. Jason Lynch piloted C’mon Buzz Off, a Real Artist-C’mon Frankie 4-year-old he trains and co-owns with his dad, Toby, to victory in the first $20,000 claiming allowance, holding off fast closing 14-1 What’s The Story (Vic Kirby). Hot Roddy (Tony Morgan) finished third. The win was the 10th of the year for C’mon Buzz Off, now a winner of $108,680 this season. In the companion $20,000 claimer, The Onlyest One, off at 10-1, was driven to victory by George Dennis for trainer Ken Mitchell and Freida Ivory. An altered son of Bettor’s Delight-Canaco Lily, the 4-year-old won for the first time in 2013 by holding off On Eagles Wings (Trace Tetrick) and race favorite Cactus Billy (Allan Davis).
