Versado takes $35,000 Preferred at Dover

Dover, DE — Versado won the $35,000 Preferred on Thursday, Jan. 10 at Dover Downs.

Drawing post 1 proved a plus for Versado in this week’s top pace. Last Thursday, driver Matt Kakaley rallied the Nick Surick-conditioned Dragon Again-Beach Jenny gelding from fifth at the half and closed to within 1-1/4 lengths of the winner. This time the KDM Stables 6-year-old left fast and took no prisoners en route to a :27.3 final panel and a 1:50.1 victory. Stolen Car and Ron Pierce, last week’s winner, was a close second. Woodstock Hanover came on for Ross Wolfenden to pick up third money.
