Waiting On A Woman scores in Philadelphia

Chester, PA — A field of eight winners over $25,000 lifetime trotters lined up behind the starting gate in the Thursday feature at Harrah’s Philadelphia. The wagering board was wide open, giving slight support to My Love Bi.

At the start, it was the team of Waiting On A Woman and Il Mago leaving aggressively. The duo sprinted five lengths clear shy of the quarter. They remained that way the entire mile, with Waiting On A Woman finishing off the one length victory in a time of 1:52.1, for his 40th career win. Opening Night, who was shuffled back, finished a rallying third.

Waiting On A Woman is owned by Martin Valentic and John Bednarski, trained by Ron Burke, and was driven by Yannick Gingras.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway
Iced Out made her return to the $6,500 conditioned pacing level on Thursday night at Saratoga Casino and Raceway and she made her way back to the winner’s circle. The Laura Mangiardi-trained mare rattled off three consecutive wins in the class in June but could muster up only a couple of third place finishes while up in class lately. Driver Chris Long moved Iced Out (Western Ideal) to the lead but it took getting parked in a first quarter in :28.2 to get to the front. Once she got to the lead, the 4-year-old mare would not look back and recorded a victory in 1:57.2, her sixth of the season. Hathaway Anne (Stephane Bouchard) shook loose late and finished second while Shakin In My Shoes (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) settled for third.

Vernon Downs
Table Games (Bettor’s Delight-Macks Table) won the $4,700 feature race at Vernon Downs on Thursday night. Longshot Kylers Valentine (Chris Lems) took the lead from the outside post position at the outset and led the way through the opening quarter of :27. That lead was short-lived, however, as Air Miles Hanover (John MacDonald) assumed the lead past the half-mile mark, which was covered in :56.4. At this point, Table Games (Roman Lopez) moved smartly on the outside to grab the advantage on the final turn. She led the way past three-quarters in 1:25. Table Games opened up a lead of two lengths through the stretch and held off a late charge from closer That’s My Dream (Jimmy Whittemore) to win in 1:53.3. The less than even-money favorite in the race, Bad Girl Vegas, was never really a threat and ended up fifth after racing in mid-pack throughout the mile.
The complete order of finish was Table Games, That’s My Dream, Kylers Valentine, Steuben Ruthless, Bad Girl Vegas, Lady Alice, Air Miles Hanover, and Got The Munchies. Table Games is owned by Samuel Serianni and Edmund Namiotka Jr. Serianni doubles as the trainer.
