Zarachino was a 1:54 winner for Ron Pierce in the $14,000 co-featured pace.

Ron Pierce made good use of starting from post one with Zarachino. In similar style to his previous start, the Red River Hanover-Zara colt who likes the front kept race favorite Rafferty Hanover at bay down the stretch for a 1:54 victory. Josting Jack (Vic Kirby) finished third. The Wiz Kids Stable owns the winner of three races this year and earnings of $44,664.

Trainer Tim Crissman and driver Tony Morgan combined for their second wins on the card when KDD Enterprize’s Never Going Away reduced his lifetime record to 1:54.1 in winning the second $14,000 co-feature for young horses. Golden Gladiator (Montrell Teague) was second with Albanian Artist (Ross Wolfenden) third.

Cal Expo
Easier foes and a flat mile paved the way to victory number 33 in the career of Jess Or No. Claiming handicap trotters, racing for a $3,400 purse, were featured at Cal Expo on Thursday night over a track listed as ‘good,’ on which Jess Or No (Luke Plano) wouldn’t be denied. Holding on while not driven that much, the gelding won ($4.60) by a half-length. Owned by Jim Lackey and trained by Jim Wilkinson, Jr., Jess Or No stopped the timer at 2:00.4. Alpine Hawk was second-best and Twice The Ruckus finished four lengths farther back in third.
