Batavia, NY — Batavia Downs Casino would like to remind horsemen and racing fans that there will be no Tuesday night racing next week.

Live racing will be conducted on a Wednesday-Friday-Saturday night basis for the next two weeks. The last week of racing will feature only Friday and Saturday night racing. The 64th season at America’s oldest lighted harness track concludes on Dec. 4. Post time remains 6:40 p.m.

Business up on-track

With 62 races dates in the book the Downs has seen a spike in on-track handle.

“We’re up about $100,000 in handle over last year,” Michael Kane, general manager of live racing said. “Thanks to some beautiful weather in August and some great promotions like Back to the Track night we were able to build up a big cushion and we have been ahead ever since. We’re hoping the old man winter cooperates during our final part of the meet.”
