Ralph Brown named Director of Finance at Hoosier Park Racing and Casino

Anderson, IN — Ralph Brown recently joined Hoosier Park Racing and Casino as the company’s director of finance. Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in the gaming and entertainment industry to the racetrack and casino, most recently serving as chief financial officer for Argosy Casino in Lawrenceburg for the past 11 years.

“We are very fortunate to have someone of Ralph’s experience and expertise join our staff,” said Jim Brown, general manager of gaming. “Ralph’s immense knowledge of the gaming industry will strengthen our team and provide us with valuable insights into various aspects of our company.”

A native of Shawnee, Okla., Brown is a graduate of Oklahoma State with a degree in accounting. He is a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner. After accepting his first job at a firm in Las Vegas auditing casinos, Brown moved into the casino industry as the controller at Caesar’s Palace. The next 22 years brought Brown in and out of Vegas, with other casino opportunities in Denver, Philadelphia, Miss., New Orleans, and eventually to the Midwest in Lawrenceburg, Ind.

“My main focus is to provide management with the information they need to make the right decisions for the company,” said Brown. “I’ve never worked with a finer group of people. It also appeals to me to learn something new from the racing aspect of the business at Hoosier Park.”

Brown will oversee several aspects of the facility including casino cage, credit collections, purchasing, accounting, payroll, and compliance.

He and his wife, Mary Lou, a registered nurse, have been married for 16 years.
