Ray’s Big Bubba bounces back Wednesday at Harrington

Harrington, DE — Richards Stable, Donna Sullivan and Judy Leonard’s Ray’s Big Bubba ($2.40, Ross Wolfenden) earned his 11th win in 17 career starts on Wednesday (June 17) at Harrington in the first of three $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund events for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers.

The Badlands Hanover colt was a three length winner in 1:54 over Ali Bad Spider and Game Day. Ray’s Big Bubba is trained by Scott Gregoire.

Winbak Farm’s Get Jazzed ($5.80, Jeff Fout) was a hard fought winner in the second elim over Royal Camelot and Three Ten in a time of 1:55.2. The Three Wizards colt is trained by Chris Ryder and picked up his third win of the season.

Meanwhile in the third division, Gary and Barbara Iles’ Zee Barber ($2.10, Jim Morand) was a wire-to-wire winner in 1:54.4 over Grab The Fortune and Sgt Charlie. Zee Barber earned a second straight win for trainer George Teague.

The second leg of DSBF action for pacing colts will get underway Wednesday, June 24.

There is no live racing at Harrington on Thursday, June 25 and Sunday, June 28.
