Registration open for Standardbred racing “Town Hall” meetings in June

from the Association of Racing Commissioners International

Lexington, KY — Two Standardbred racing “Town Hall” focus group meetings to gather input from racing industry participants will take place in June, one at Harrington Raceway in Delaware on Tuesday (June 14) at 10:30 a.m. and the other in New Jersey at the Meadowlands on Saturday (June 18) at 1 p.m.

The Town Hall meetings represent an effort by The Association of Racing Commissioners International to unify the racing industry in the United States and develop a consensus path to improve the policing of the sport and advance uniform regulatory policies.

A no-cost preregistration is required for all who would like to participate to ensure that everyone has a seat.

To attend the meeting on June 14 at Harrington, register here.

To attend the meeting on June 18 at the Meadowlands, register here.

While previous meetings have been open to all breeds, the ARCI is planning several “Standardbred only” meetings to ensure that Standardbred racing has a meaningful voice in the process.

In addition to the meetings at Harrington and the Meadowlands, the ARCI is also hoping to arrange meetings at Dayton Raceway in Ohio in September and Saratoga Harness in New York later in the year.

The ARCI effort is comprised of public meetings, private group discussions, and webinar meetings. There will also be an online survey for those unable to participate in person.
