On Friday (June 1), Eldorado Scioto Downs will pay tribute to Bill Dailey.

The left handed driver visited the winner’s circle 2,301 times. As a trainer he harnessed more than 1,200 winners with purse earnings exceeding $12.3 million. Mr. Dailey oversaw the training of multiple Ohio Sire Stakes champions and Ohio Triple Crown winners.

On Friday (June 1), Eldorado Scioto Downs will pay tribute to Mr. Dailey. Following the third race fellow horsemen, family, and friends are encouraged to come to the winner’s circle to remember Bill Dailey and all his success.

The Bill Dailey Foundation was created in memory of Bill after his unexpected death. The foundation hopes to ease the burden for beginning drivers in purchasing silks. Once a year, a monetary gift will be given to a chosen applicant to purchase a pair of racing silks for their own personal use. For more information please email billdaileyfoundation@gmail.com.

Also on June 1, Eldorado Scioto Downs will field a stout six horse Open pace for fillies and mares including recent Open winners Pistol Packin Mama, Rosemary Rose, and Zoe Ellasen. Not to be outshined by their elders, four divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old filly pacers are set to do battle for $15,000 a division.

Eldorado Scioto Downs races Tuesday through Saturday with a 2 p.m. afternoon post time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and a 6:30 p.m. post on Thursday through Saturday.
