Campbellville, ON — Woodbine Entertainment Group recently announced a new pacing series for 4-year-olds and older, non-winners of C$25,000 in 2011 (winners over C$100,000 in 2010 ineligible). The Beat The Heat Pacing Series will begin on Saturday, June 25.

The series will consist of two legs for a purse of C$20,000 each with the first leg on June 25 and the second on July 2.

The 12 horses with the highest money earnings in the series will advance to the final, which is slated to go on July 9, for a purse of C$60,000. All horses will be guaranteed purse money as the distribution is as follows: 50 percent, 25 percent, 10 percent, 7 percent and 1 percent for all remaining starters only in the final.

A nomination fee of $100 will be accepted until Wednesday, June 15.

Envelopes must be clearly postmarked no later than the said due date or payment will not be accepted. Hand delivery of the nomination payment is recommended due to the impending postal strike.
