Results from this week’s Buckeye Stallion Series at Eldorado Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — Eldorado Scioto Downs hosted 3-year-old trotting fillies and colts this week in the Buckeye Stallion Series. On Tuesday (June 12) there were three filly races with a total of 22 trotting fillies and Thursday (June 14) there were four races with a total of 32 trotting colts.

Kellie’s Mvp (My Mvp – Adriana Hanover) won Race 3, coming home in 1:58.1. She was driven and trained by Ray Paver. This win brought her 2018 earnings to more than $20,000. She is owned by Samuel Raneri III and Raymond Tom Paver. Just behind her was Proxierigs (Big Rigs – Proxie Promised) and third was My Star Lee (My MVP – LeeLee Hall).

In the 13th race Nice And Shiny As (Stormin Normand – Follonica) headed to the winner’s circle with driver Chris Page in 1:57.1, followed by She’s Got Pizazz (Manofmanymissions – She’s Not Red) in second and This Year’s Best (My MVP – Under My Thumb) in third. Nice And Shiny As is trained by Anette Lorentzon and owned by ACL Stuteri.

The final Buckeye Stallion Series race on Tuesday was the 14th. She’s On A Mission (Manofmanymissions – Cecada) was on a mission as she finished in 1:57.0 bringing home her second win of the year in only three starts with Kyle Ater in the sulky. Dustin Arledge trains the filly and owns her along with Gregory Clark.

Trotting colt Jeffery P (Full Count – Betty Jean) started the Buckeye Stallion Series on Thursday in Race 2 where he won in 1:54.2 with Bryce Brocklehurst in the sulky. This is Jeffrey P’s first year to race and already out of six starts he has five wins and one second. He is just shy of $30,000 in earnings. He is trained by Miles Wollam for owners Rhett Roll, Ashley Fusco, Denis Osterholt and Jacob Detweiler. Following his lead in second place was Whitman Spur (Triumphant Caviar – Mono Lisa Spur) and 3rd was Blasco (Manofmanymissions – Zakanaka).

Race 3 saw Showboat (Dejarmbro – Tori Ann) to the winner’s circle under direction of Jeremy Smith in 1:55. Showboat is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and owned by Joyce McClelland. Following Showboat’s lead were Caviar’s Triumph (Triumphant Caviar – Escadilla) in second and in third was Bank Guard (Break The Bank K – Miss Chip K).

Race 5 was a sweet win for Sugar Top (Manofmanymissions – Sugar) when Ronnie Wrenn Jr. drove her to the winner’s circle in 1:55.3 for the colt’s second win of the year bringing him to over $20,000 in 2018 earnings. Sugar Top is trained by Melanie Wrenn and owned by Gene Oldford LLC. Tropical Splash As (Dejarmbro – Tropical Breeze) came in a close second and Dontteasehim (Dontyouforgetit – Tantalizing Donna) came in third.

The final Buckeye Stallion Series race of the evening was Race 7, where High Definition AS (Dejarmbro – High Musclemass) headed to the winner’s circle with Chris Page in 1:57.3. High Definition AS is trained by Anette Lorentzon and owned by Michael Soehnlen and Jeffrey Cox. Closely behind in second and third placings were two more Dejarmbro colts, Distorted Dream (Dejarmbro – Silly Dreams) and Woof (Dejarmbro – Wolf’s Jann).
