Rich N Ponderous goes back-to-back at Dayton

Dayton, OH — Now with two wins in a row, Rich N Ponderous, previously a maiden, has found her groove at Dayton Raceway. On Thrusday (Oct. 13), the daughter of The Ponderosa scored again in the featured $15,000 Hollywood Dayton Mini-Series final for pacing fillies and mares.

The series, for non-winners of one pari-mutuel race or $10,000 lifetime, had a single qualifying leg before the top five finishers in each division squared off in the final.

Driven by Kayne Kauffman, Rich N Ponderous left from post eight with strength and speed. The 3-year-old filly went straight to the front and never looked back. As the 8-5 second choice, Rich N Ponderous posted fractions of :28, :57, and 1:25.2 before stopping the clock in 1:55.2.

Rich N Ponderous has tallied her only two lifetime wins in the mini-series. Rich N Ponderous has banked upwards of $30,000 lifetime for trainer Kim Dailey, who shares ownership with Todd Woodruff.

Live racing at Dayton Raceway resumes Friday (Oct. 14) with first post at 4 p.m.
