Richard Ingrassia Memorial Series scheduled for Monticello

Monticello, NY — Monticello Raceway is offering the Richard Ingrassia Memorial Series, a trotting series for horses that have made four of their last six starts in claiming races for a tag of $5,000 or less and have not raced for a purse in excess of $4,300.

There will be three legs and a final. The legs will go for $3,000 with a $5,000-added finale. If there are enough entries there will also be a consolation for $4,000.

The series will be held on consecutive Wednesdays starting on Feb. 2 with the final slated for Feb. 23. The top eight point earners in the series will become eligible to the final.

Races will be conducted under the rules and regulations of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.

The entering trainer must be the trainer of record for the last six starts and must have the majority of starts at Monticello Raceway during the calendar year of 2010.

The nomination fee is $100 and nominations will close on Monday, Jan. 10.
