Rickybobbynthehaus takes checkered flag at Philly

Chester, PA — Rickybobbynthehaus had the pedal to the metal to catch Machaholic in Sunday’s (Nov. 13) $25,000-$30,000 claiming handicap pacing feature at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

David Miller used Rickybobbynthehaus hard to lead through a :26.4 opening quarter, but then surrendered the lead to Machaholic, who took the field through middle fractions of :56.1 and 1:24. Miller moved the gelded son of American Ideal to the outside for the stretch drive, and he surged by to win by a length in 1:52. 4for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr. and the partnership of David Hamm and Rodney Long, who claimed the pacer for $30,000 last weekend.

Miller led all drivers with four wins on the card. Austin Siegelman was among those with driving doubles, but his were with bombers Velocity Gator ($108.60) and Lincoln’s Girl N ($43.40). Both helped to set up no fewer than four carryovers for Thursday’s (Nov. 17) card: a $3,434.19 Pick-4 starting with race one, a $2,190.78 Super Hi-5 in race three, a $931.49 Pick-5 starting in race five, and a $640.10 Pick-3 starting with race seven.

This coming week, Harrah’s Philadelphia will host racing on its normal fall schedule of Thursday and Friday at 12:25 p.m. and Sunday at 12:40 p.m.; the following week there will be no live racing on Thanksgiving (Thursday, Nov. 24).
