Ringostarr Treb fails to impress at Solvalla

Ringostarr Treb, who will represent Italy in the International Trot at Yonkers Raceway next month, raced for the first time since his victory in the Elitlopp Wednesday night (Sept. 26) at Solvalla, but failed to impress as he made a break going around the last turn.

Ringostarr Treb, driven by Torbjörn Jansson, finished out of the money and was timed in 1:58.1f.

“But no worry. I was satisfied with the horse. He was full of trot when he became rough gaited. He also made a break first time I raced him last year. I think he is fine,” trainer Jerry Riordan said after the race.

The European team for the International Trot will leave on a flight Oct. 5 from Liege, Belgium, for the JFK airport where they will be in quarantine for 48 hours.
