RMTC seeks Director of Research

Lexington, KY — The Racing Medication and Testing Consortium is seeking applications for the position of Director of Research.

The individual holding this position will be responsible for the coordination of RMTC research projects, development of requests for proposals on specific research projects, analysis of research results, assisting the principal research investigators with publication of research results, and coordinating the development of recommendations on decision levels and withdrawal times for permitted therapeutic medications.

The Director of Research will also serve as a staff liaison to the RMTC Scientific Advisory Committee, Association of Racing Commissioners International drug testing and regulatory committees, the Association of Official Racing Chemists, and equine drug testing laboratories.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and post-graduate work, with a strong scientific emphasis and a background in scientific writing with a history of publication. An understanding of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles and knowledge of the racing industry is preferred. The position will be located in Lexington, Kentucky. Salary depends on education and experience.
