ROAP announces upcoming accreditation school at Los Alamitos Race Course

Lexington, KY — The Racing Officials Accreditation Program (ROAP) is pleased to announce the annual accreditation school for stewards/judges will be held at Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress, Calif., from Sept. 11-18.

The 60-hour school provides comprehensive classroom instruction as well as experience shadowing officials to gain a hands-on perspective of the duties of stewards/judges and the inner-workings of the racetrack. The school curriculum includes flat racing (Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse) and Standardbred racing disciplines.

The accreditation school is open to all applicants who meet and complete the registration requirements by Aug. 12.

The mission of ROAP is to accredit and provide continuing education to all racing officials, stewards and judges in the horse racing industry. By doing so ROAP is enhancing the image and upholding the integrity of horse racing at all levels. ROAP, which receives primary funding from The Jockey Club and is based in its Kentucky office, is a 501(c)(6) organization whose board of directors is made up of representatives from 15 industry organizations and 10 at-large representatives.
