Northfield, OH — Robin Miller scored the 2,000th win of his driving career while driving Stormy Novel in Northfield Park’s 12th race on Saturday (July 9).

Getherdone Sue left intently from the rail to set the pace early in the mile. She dealt with early pressure from Sandy Tilly Lace who challenged going to the quarter. When they came by the stands the first time Stormy Novel came in between both rivals to challenge for the lead. Going past the five-eighths marker it looked like Stormy Novel would waiver just a little bit, but Miller urged her on and she battled back taking over the lead turning for home. Stormy Novel went on to win by three-parts of a length in 1:58.3 for trainer Steve Cross.

Miller won his first career drive at the Mount Vernon County Fair in 1979.

Talking about his 2,000th win he said “It’s definitely a career milestone, and I was glad to get there.”

To date, Miller has made just over $6.5 million in his storied career. His best year came in 2015 where he eclipsed over $700,000 in career earnings and he is on track to surpass his 2015 numbers already this year.
