Rock N Roll Jet wins Rosecroft Open

Ft. Washington, MD — Rock N Roll Jet flew home like his name suggests to take the $12,000 Open Pace on Sunday (Oct. 14) at Rosecroft Raceway.

Driver Kim Vincent put the winner in prime position second over and tipped three deep after his cover Hickory Aloha finally packed it in and held off Al’s Hammered (Allan Davis), while Rocktavious, the pacesetter (Jonathan Roberts), held for third in 1:50.3. Buddy Bright trains and co-owns the winner with Dawn Webb.

Jonathan Roberts had four wins on the card. Denver Seelster ($2.60) rallied from way back for trainer Michael Hall, the CTC Stable and Howard Taylor in 1:53.2. Jack Quick ($4.20) also fashioned a similar rally for a win for owner/trainer Basil Sapienza in 1:52.3. Maurice ($11.00) set a lifetime best for Green Valley Training and trainer Thomas Armour in 1:53.4. Jacks After Hours took the claiming finale in 1:54.3 for Megan Roberts and trainer Sofia Zingale.

Frank Milby drove two winners for trainer John Hollingsworth. The classy 10-year-old veteran Abelard Hanover won a thrilling stretch duel with Bro Hanover (Sean Bier) winning literally by inches in 1:51.4. It was the 56th career win for the son of Rocknroll Hanover who is owned by Suzanne Waskey and the Four Maples Stable. Milby also guided Talking Blues to a win for the Twin Ponds Stable in 1:54.4.

Leading driver Russell Foster took the $9,000 Winners Over Trot with Fetchit ($7.00) in 1:56 for owner Eric Foster Jr. and trainer Eric Foster.
