Rocklamation defeated Anndrovette in a stretch battle to win Saturday’s Lady Liberty for older female pacers in 1:49.3 on Saturday at the Meadowlands.

Driven by Yannick Gingras for trainer Ron Burke, Rocklamation was fourth in the first half of the race as Anndrovette controlled the action through fractions of :26.1 and :54.4.

Rocklamation made her move at that point and was second on the outside of Anndrovette as the field reached three-quarters in 1:22.2.

The two mares raced in unison through the stretch, with Rocklamation edging in front as they neared the finish. Fast-closing Shelliscape got up for third place.

“She is so tough,” Gingras said about Rocklamation. “They’ve been spacing her starts out by design, she’s not the soundest mare there, but she certainly has the heart.”

Rocklamation, a 6-year-old mare by Rocknroll Hanover out of Art Sale, has won three of 11 races this season and 22 of 90 in her career. She pushed her lifetime earnings to more than $2 million with the triumph.

“It’s been a great week, a great run at this,” said Burke, who won four Hambletonian Day stakes. “Yannick’s driven great and (Ron) Pierce did a great job with (Sweet) Lou.

“This mare just amazes me. She just keeps going and going.”

Rocklamation is owned by Our Horse Cents Stables, Stable 45, and J&T Silva Stables.
