Rockome Vic tallied his seventh consecutive victory at Pompano Park on Monday.

Guided from post seven by George Napolitano, Jr., Rockome Vic settled in fifth place through the early stages of the race before moving to the outside to attack first-over as Wyatt (J.D. Wengerd) cut opening fractions of :27.2 and :56.4.

As the trotters straightened out for their journey down the backstretch, Rockome Vic powered aggressively to the front, clearing Wyatt to seize control of the race through a three-quarter split in 1:25.3.

Rockome Vic entered the stretch with a two length advantage, and was never seriously threatened down the lane, crossing the wire 1-1/2 lengths the best of a late closing Levity’s Pride (Dan Clements).

Rockome Vic returned $2.80, $2.20, and $2.10 for the victory. Levity’s Pride brought in $3.80 and $3.60 for second, while Karpathos (Wally Hennessey) paid $2.60 for third.

Since being claimed for $8,000 on January 12 by owner/trainer Todd Stone, Rockome Vic has gotten his picture taken in seven straight starts, including a lifetime best mile of 1:55.2 on March 3. Before entering the Stone barn, the son of Valley Victor had visited the winner’s circle 10 times in 79 career outings.

Earlier in the evening, Railee Possible ($9.40) tallied a victory in the featured $10,000 winners over trot, covering the mile in 1:55.2 for the ownership of Frank and Inge Smith of Deerfield Beach, and trainer Veral Bowman.

Driven by Dan Clements, the Florida-bred son of Anythings Possible led at every call, carving out the mile in :27.3, :57.2, and 1:26.3 before coming home in :28.4 to claim the three-quarter length victory.

The triumph marked the first of the year for Railee Possible, who visited the winner’s circle on 12 occasions in 2007.
