by Susan Arrington

Pompano Beach, FL — Organizers of the Roosevelt Raceway reunion — Randy Perry, Fred Hudson, Lucien Fontaine and Judy Bokman of the Standardbred Retirement Foundation — announced that the two-day event starts Saturday (Feb. 20) at Pompano Park with a Roosevelt Raceway night and concludes on Sunday with the reunion party.

In what promises to be a night of fun and enjoyment for all, we encourage all harness racing fans to come out to Pompano Park and meet some of Roosevelt Raceway’s great driving and training stars of the past.

During the evening RR drivers and trainers will present a trophy and be trackside for autograph signing and photos along with Roosevelt Raceway memorabilia available for purchase with proceeds to benefit the Standardbred Retirement Foundation. Don’t miss a look at the big screen as Pompano Park will be playing old Roosevelt Raceway races between the live races.

Those participating at Pompano include Lucien Fontaine, Mike Lachance, Randy Perry, Billy Popfinger, Bobby Hiel, Freddy Hudson, Mike Santa Maria, Joe Faraldo, Frank Tagariello, Benny Defonce, Tom Merriman and many others.

The reunion party is sold out and will be held at the Marriott North in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, Feb. 21, starting at 4:30 p.m.
