Rosecroft horsemen seek to stop eviction

from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — A group of about 20 Rosecroft Raceway horsemen are fighting in court to fend off eviction from the track’s backstretch.

According to a story in the Washington Post, the track’s owner, Cloverleaf Enterprises, wants to close the backstretch in order to save costs of about $35,000 a month.

The racetrack last held live racing on September 12, 2009, although five qualifying sessions were held earlier this year.
