Rosecroft Raceway approved for 23-night fall meet

Ft. Washington, MD — Rosecroft Raceway will hold a 23-night fall meet from Sunday (Oct. 3) through Sunday (Dec. 19) under a schedule recently approved by the Maryland Racing Commission.

Live racing is scheduled for Sundays and Wednesdays with first post time set for 7:15 p.m. with one exception. There will be no racing Sunday (Nov. 7), with a special card set for 7:15 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 6), after the Breeders’ Cup World Championships simulcast.

The Potomac Pace, won last year by Leonidas A, will be held Sunday (Nov. 14). The Maryland Sire Stakes for all 2-year-old divisions will be held on Sunday nights in October. Preliminaries are Oct. 10 and 17, with the four finals scheduled for Oct. 24.

Live racing continues at Casino at Ocean Downs Sept. 6, 8, 12, 13 and 15. There will be a roughly two and a half week break until the opening of Rosecroft.
