Rosecroft Raceway opens Fall Meet on Sunday night

Ft. Washington, MD — Rosecroft Raceway opened its Fall Meet on Sunday night (Oct. 3) and a familiar face went to a familiar place. Precision Bluechip found the Rosecroft winner’s circle for the seventh time in 2021 as Russell Foster guided him into the passing lane for a 1:50.4 score in the $12,000 Open Pace.

It was the ninth win in 24 starts for the 6-year-old son of Bettor’s Delight and was one of four wins for Foster and one of two wins for owner-trainer Courtney Brooks who also won with Redwood Again, escorted to victory by driver Jared Moyer.

Foster sat the pocket as pace setter Can’t Beach That (Luke Hanners) was under attack from a parked out Classic (Trae Porter) through fractions of :26, :54.2, and 1:22.1. As Classic faded and Volley Ball Beach (Barton Dalious) came to call on the outside, Foster calmly sent the winner into the passing lane and he scooted home to win by two lengths over Volley Ball Beach. Can’t Beach That held on for third.

Trainer Ken Schlotzhauer had a double as Foster won with Costello and Roger Plante won with Bevnlindas Sunnap, who went off at a head scratching 55-1, despite a 4-1 morning line.

Hanners guided 12-year-old claimer Diamond Cowboy to his 51st lifetime win as he is closing in on 300 career starts for Cya In The Game Racing and trainer Jody Dunning.

Rosecroft returns to live action Wednesday night with post time at 7:15 p.m.
