Roselyn Snyder, 84, dies

Columbus, OH — Roselyn L. “Rosie” Snyder, 84, of Washington, Pa., the mother of horsemen Dane Snyder, Doug Snyder and Dee Smith, died Feb. 25, 2012, at Evergreen Assisted Living facility, where she had been a resident for two years.

She was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Fremont, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clarence and Louise Stahl. Mrs. Snyder, who lived in Washington since 1973, was a former member of the USTA and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. On Oct. 6, 1946, she married Richard T. Snyder, who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1989.

Her sons Dane and Doug are horsemen at The Meadows, while Dee Smith is a very active trainer in Illinois with her husband Perry.

She is survived by her children, Dane (Cathy), Doug (Jan) and Dee Louise (Perry) Smith; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday (Feb. 29) at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Anne Woodman-Howe officiating.
