Columbus, MN — Running Aces Casino & Racetrack proudly announces an exciting series of Late Closing events for the 2017 season which gets underway on Saturday (May 20) and offers live racing every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday evenings through Sept. 16.

The series action offers six events during the months of June and July and is highlighted by the $30,000 guaranteed Dan Patch Free For All Pace (Event #1) to be contested on Sunday (July 23). The Dan Patch nomination fee is $350 and is due by June 19, with supplemental entries available for this event only for $3,000.

Events 2-6 carry a $200 nomination fee and are all due on or before May 15.

There are pacing events for both sexes that are non-winners of one pari-mutuel race or $7,500 lifetime (with allowances for Minnesota owned/sired entries) and a similar event for the trotters. These three events feature $7,000 in purses for each of the first two legs of competition and boast finals of $15,000 each.

There are two pacing claiming events, one for Fillies and Mares and one Open claiming that offer progressive claiming tags during the first two legs ($3,500 tag in first leg then $4,500) and they both offer purses of $5,000 in leg one and $6,000 in leg two, each with a $12,500 final with no claiming allowed.

In total, these events offer more than $163,000 in purses and should make for some very exciting action to complement the overnight racing program and the Minnesota sired programs offered at Running Aces this season.
