Running Aces stall application deadline approaches

from Running Aces Harness Park

Columbus, MN — Trainers are reminded that stall applications for the 51-night 2010 meet at Running Aces Harness Park in Minnesota are due by April 24. The stalls will be allocated on May 3, one week before the grounds open for horses to arrive on May 10. The meet opens on June 1 and ends on August 28.

Qualifiers will be held the three Saturdays leading up to opening night on May 15, 22 and 29.

Several late-closing events will be offered including separate series for both non-winners of one pari-mutuel race and non-winners of two pari-mutuel races for both pacers and trotters. In addition, a $5,000 claiming pace series is being contemplated. Entry forms will be available May 10 and nominations due June 6. The opening round legs will be scheduled approximately two weeks later.

“Stalls are limited and purses will again be significantly higher this season, so we’re asking trainers to only ask for the number of stalls they can fill with qualified racehorses,” said Director of Racing Gregg Keidel. “Trainers who have raced with us in the past will get stall space preference if they maintained a good starts-to-stalls ratio, although we must limit any particular trainer to no more than 16 stalls. New trainers are also encouraged to apply as we anticipate room for a couple new stables.”

Stall applications can be downloaded off the track’s Web site at www.runningacesharness.com.
