RUS America Trot at Rosecroft canceled

from RUS America

Fort Washington, MD —- Due to a lack of sufficient entries, the RUS America Trot scheduled for Nov. 15 at Rosecroft will not be contested.

Plans are for the race to be rescheduled for the spring of 2017.

“With only six horses competing at the Meadowlands, we suspected it would be difficult getting a sufficient field at Rosecroft,” said RUS America Board Member Allan Schott. “However, we felt we owed it to our members to attempt to race at Rosecroft as we had planned. Obviously, getting enough horses to race this late in the year was more problematic than we thought it would be.”

Board Member Clarissa Coughlin added, “We would like to thank MJC at Rosecroft for have given us the opportunity to race on Nov. 15. While it was prudent to cancel the race due to the lack of entries, we look forward to working with the Maryland Jockey Club in bring racing under saddle to Rosecroft in the spring of 2017.”
