RUS NY was formed in early 2014 in response to the growing interest in racing under saddle. While the sport, known as Monté racing internationally, is very prosperous in other countries it is yet to be self-sufficient in the United States particularly because of legislation that prohibits wagering.

Hopefully one day that will change! But until then, finding sponsors and ways to fundraise has been the biggest challenge moving forward.

RUS New York is currently looking for sponsors and donations such as tickets to places and events, gift certificates, gift baskets and other items that can be used to raise money at various fundraising events.

Why support us?

Our main goal is not only to promote this unique sport, but to also educate people about the versatility of the Standardbred breed and help the horses find great homes after they finish their days on the track.

Benefits of RUS:

•Women and men from all different equestrian disciplines have the opportunity to participate

•It helps attract some fresh fans to the sport of Harness Racing

•It helps broaden awareness of the Standardbred across other disciplines. It gives them a step in the right direction towards a second career. By being broke to saddle, it may be easier to place them in pleasure horse homes when they are finished with their careers

•It provides horses that may not make enough money or fit harness classes at the tracks anymore with another use for owners – they are more apt to keep a horse that has a job or use.

Sponsorship Information:

We are providing the opportunity to sponsor our fair series, a particular track race or series and/or our group as a whole. If it is decided to donate to the group as a whole our committee will determine where the funds are most needed and provide the utmost exposure through our website, social media sites and press releases.

We realize that it is not always feasible to donate money and welcome product donations that can be used for prizes or for fundraising purposes.

Sponsors who donate product for prizes:

All Fair Series sponsors will be included in every race program to provide maximum exposure. The series will include nine race legs and a championship final race.

We are willing to promote events, sales and other happenings and news for our sponsors. The goal is to reach as many people as we can.
